Celebrating The Unsung Heros — Voices From The Fray
This documentary features twelve individuals who played roles from the earliest days after the Human Immunodeficiency Virus was first identified in 1981. Interviews in the documentary include doctors and medical staff, those affected by HIV/AIDS, community activists and clergy. The documentary is produced by Dr. Joseph Cadden of the Rand Schrader Clinic of L.A. County/USC Medical Center, and a member of the Board of Directors of Hollywood Remembers.
Panels of the National AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on exhibit for the entire week in the church sanctuary. The AIDS quilt is considered to be the largest work of folk art in the world.
In addition to the screening, activist/actor and director Michael Kearns will perform an excerpt from his landmark theatre work “Intimacies.” The event will also include presentations by activist Brian Frank and comedian David Trudell.
There is no cost for admission. Donations will be gratefully accepted. A Reception will follow in the Hollywood Lutheran Social Hall.
Hollywood Remembers gratefully thanks and appreciates Hollywood Lutheran Church for allowing HR to present its performance in the church.
